Podcast Overview

We’d like to give a big welcome to Dany L. Martin, MBA, Partner and Wealth Advisor at WFA, to this episode of Disruption Blueprint. Dany is social media savvy, community driven, and has a keep moving forward attitude that makes him an innovator in our industry. Most recently, Dany was named to InvestmentNews’ 40 Under 40 Class of 2021, which is an enormous accomplishment coming from a pool of over 600 candidates.

Family is the core of everything for Dany. His wife Lindsi, and her business partner, own one of the top 50 vegan restaurants in the United States, Well+Fed Louisiana. His 5 adopted sons are all on their own path to success, supported by the love of Dany and Lindsi. Dany enjoys going to church, lifelong learning, and living an intentional life. He is setting the standard of what it means to be a top financial advisor in the future.

Dany is doing great things for WFA, his team, and his clients. He’s mission driven and focuses on daily habits and really aligning himself with partners who have that shared belief. It’s how the entire WFA team gels together so successfully. As Dany explains in this episode, the habits we choose on a daily basis set the foundation for success. “Bad habits are like the open door to failure,” Dany says.

WFA has 96 cumulative years of trusted advisor experience and 134+ cumulative years of administrative experience, and they’ve completely crushed it the past year. WFA hired a new advisor, opened a second Shreveport office, and never forgot to focus on clients, family, team, and community. The focus is always looking forward and elevating the client experience.

WFA takes the time to talk to clients, make sure the investments are in good shape, and email people back when they email them. “Be as transparent as possible,” says Dany. Dany mentions calling clients, not to prospect them but to respect them, connect with them. “Talk to these clients once a month. How are they doing?” he says. Dany and WFA hand carved their client relationships over time with the intention of always learning, always adapting.

“If we can take clients farther, faster, that’s ultimately what we’re trying to do,” Dany says. Technology has made it so advisors can trade faster, give better tax advice faster, send documents faster. WFA likes to look at any type of tool that can help them enhance the vision of the firm, says Dany.

Don’t miss Dany’s wisdom throughout the episode if you’re searching for tips on focusing on what matters, why technology is so important, and his updated way of measuring success. A wealth of tips

Listen to this Disruption Blueprint episode with Dany L. Martin, MBA, Partner and Wealth Advisor at WFA and take note of these three concepts to help you rev up your business.

  1. Start pedaling. You’ll never know if you’ll succeed or not if you don’t try. Whatever outcome you’re seeking, you won’t know if you don’t get on the bike and start pedaling. “It’s not hard. It’s not impossible,” Dany says. You just have to start.
  2. Be open to learning. Dany is a true believer in lifelong learning. “Feed your mind, feed your soul, just always be open to learning new things,” Dany says. If something negative comes your way, shrug it off, learn from it, and then continue moving forward
  3. Practice honesty with yourself. It’s easy to find fault in others, but it’s hard to be honest yourself. Sometimes you have to have that deep conversation with yourself, asking those necessary questions: how is your business, really? Is it as good as you think it is? How about family? Your team? You just have to be honest with yourself. “If you’re not honest with yourself, then you can’t go and help other people.”
